Online music service Slicethepie has launched an online consumer insight and music analytics service called SoundOut.
SoundOut will offer artists, publishers and record labels consumer-driven market insight into chosen music tracks by uploading them onto the site and selecting the type of report required.
The report will be generated once the track has been submitted anonymously to 40 - 80 reviewers from SoundOut's sister site, Slicethepie.
Reviews and ratings of tracks from SoundOut are compared with the database of tracks on Slicethepie before being analysed by computational forensic linguistic (CFL) technology to produce the report.
David Courtier-Dutton, CEO of Slicethepie said, "When we saw the statistical integrity of the data being generated by Slicethepie reviewers, we knew we were on to something important. The internet is the perfect medium to conduct this, before SoundOut similar services were only available to major labels due to the cost. "
